Matt Regan- Owner and Head Coach 

Matt is the owner and head coach of Next Level Basketball Academy. Matt has been coaching basketball at the high school level since 2002. He has been boys Varsity coach at Bishop Guertin High School since 2016-17 Season. In his first season Bishop Guertin won their first playoff game in 5 years. Before that Matt was the Boys Varsity coach at Pelham High School for six years. In 2016 Pelham won its second straight NH Div III state championship game. The Pythons finished with a 23-2 overall record. In 2015 Pelham won the NH Div III state championship for the first time since 2006. The team finished 24-1 overall and 22-0 in DIII. Matt was also named the 2015 NH DIII Coach of the Year. In 2014 the Pelham Boys finished the season at 17-4 reaching the D2 Semi-Finals for the second time under Matt's guidance. In his first six years as a varsity coach, Matt has a record of 110-33 to go along with over a 100 wins as a Junior varsity coach. Matt was the 2010 NH Sportspage Coach of the Year. Matt has also coached multiple town teams at the youth level. Matt has also run skills clinics and camps to hundreds of youth in the southern nh area.

 

 

Mike Crowley- Head Coach 

With over 19 years of Varsity coaching experience, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge to our program. Mike currently has 305 career Varsity wins between coaching boys and girls. In his first season at Tyngsboro last year Mike turned around the program and reached the state finals. Previously Mike has coached the Tyngsboro girls for two years and Lowell High girls for 16 years. In that span Mike has earned 2 State Title appearances, seven league titles, 8 North/Central final appearances, five MVC coach of the year awards, four Lowell Sun coach of the years, and the 2006 Division 1 coach of the year award. He has also sent eight players on either Division 1 or 2 scholarships. Aside from high School coaching Mike is the Pelham 8th grade boys travel coach. During his time Mike has enjoyed great success in the Merrimack Valley A division.

 

James Roman - Clinic Coach and Head Coach

James has been an assistant coach with Matt Regan since 2015. He was an assistant for the Pelham High School Varsity team as well as an assistant for Next Levels AAU program NorthEast XTreme. Before coaching, James was a very successful and accomplished basketball player. James played his college hoop for Division II Southern New Hampshire University. Before college, James made a name for himself at Pelham High School. He was a four year varsity basketball player and Pelham’s 3rd all time leading scorer with 1,651pts. In 2006 James led Pelham to its first ever Class I State Championship. During that season he was named Class I player of the year and 1st team all-state. In 2004 and 2005 he led Pelham to State Final appearances and also was a 1st team all-state selection.

Alex LaRosa - Head Coach

Alex is in his first season with NEXT. He is currently the Head Coach for the Londonderry Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team at Londonderry High School. Alex brings a wealth of knowledge both as a coach and player to our program. Before coaching Alex played college hoop at Salve Regina where he earned a degree in elementary school teaching and special education. In high school Alex was a star player at Salem High School. He was a 2nd team all state player as a Junior and First team all stater as a Senior. He was also a Mcdonalds All-American nominee and a player of the year finalist in his Senior season. Alex currently is a 4th grade teacher in Londonderry and we are excited to have him on staff.

Zach Stevens - Clinics and Camp Coach

Zach Stevens is currently an assistant coach for Plymouth State University.  He also was a two year member of the Men’s Basketball team. Prior to Plymouth State University he attended Trinity High School in Manchester, New Hampshire from 2007-2011. He was a 4 year member of the varsity team which made three different trips to the state championship, winning the title in 2009.  In his senior year Zach was the team captain and led the team in scoring with 11.9 ppg.  Post season recognition included Division I Second- Team All- State and ranking as one of the top shooters in New England by the New England Recruiting Report.  After graduating from Trinity High School he moved onto New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, New Hampshire where he played two seasons (2011-2013). Zach started 25 games, averaging 12 ppg his freshman year and was recognized as USCAA National Player of the Week during the month of December.  During his sophomore year the team went 33-5 and was ranked as the number one team heading into the USCAA National Tournament.  During the skills competition held during the national tournament in 2013, Zach competed in and won the USCAA National 3-point Contest.
